Today in class we learned some verbs in the simple past tense form. Here is a review of the verbs from today: 

     1. VERB: "to do"   

• Tense: simple past
  
• Form:  irregular verb
  

  ____present_tense___simple_past____                                            
     I             do                                ---->"I did homework."     
    You          do                  did  ---->"You did homework." 
    He/She     does                     ---->"He/She did homework." 
    We           do                               ---->"We did homework." 


          Answer the question: "What did you do yesterday?"

          Example: "I did the laundry."


     2. VERB: "to like"

• Tense: simple past
• Form: regular [VERB+ed]

  ____present_tense____simple_past____                                                 
      I           like                                 ---->"I liked the movie."     
     You        like                 liked   ---->"You liked the movie." 
     He/She   likes                         ---->"He/She liked the movie." 
     We         like                                  ---->"We liked the movie." 


          Answer the question: "What did you like as a child?"

          Example: "I liked Chinese food."

My name is Domingo Payne, and I'm an instructor who teaches at Gavilan College, in Gilroy, California. This is the first message on the blog I'm calling, ESL Lifeskills. This blog is going to be about the ESL classes I teach also called "ESL Lifeskills".
